Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Whimoway, operated by Dean as a sole trader based in the United Kingdom.

By using Whimoway, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The service

Whimoway is a YouTube subscription management and content discovery platform. We help you organise your YouTube subscriptions by category, browse your content chronologically, create curated video collections (stashes), explore new interests (whims), and participate in community discussions.

Whimoway is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to YouTube or Google. We use the YouTube API Services to access your subscription data with your permission.

Your account

To use Whimoway, you must sign in with a Google account and grant read-only access to your YouTube subscription data. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Whimoway. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.

What you can do

With a Whimoway account, you can:

• View your YouTube subscriptions organised by category
• Browse chronological feeds of recent videos from your subscriptions
• Create and manage personal video collections (stashes)
• Share stashes publicly if you choose
• Participate in community forum discussions
• Explore curated interest pages (whims)
• Customise your profile with interests and a bio

What you cannot do

You agree not to:

• Use Whimoway to harass, abuse, or harm others
• Post content that is illegal, hateful, threatening, or violates others' rights
• Attempt to access other users' private data or accounts
• Use automated tools to scrape, collect, or harvest data from Whimoway
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
• Use the service for any purpose that violates the YouTube API Services Terms of Service

Content you create

You retain ownership of content you create on Whimoway, including stashes, forum posts, profile information, and curator notes.

By making content public (publishing a stash, posting in the forum), you grant Whimoway a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display that content on the platform. You can remove public content at any time by deleting it, which revokes this licence.

Forum posts and stash contributions that are part of collaborative or community content may remain visible after your account is deleted if they are part of ongoing threads or shared stashes. Your name will be disassociated from this content upon account deletion.

Subscriptions and pricing

Whimoway offers a free tier with limited features and a paid subscription (Pro) with expanded features. Pricing is displayed on the website and may change with notice.

If you subscribe to Pro, you will be billed at the rate displayed at the time of subscription. We will notify you of price changes before they take effect. You can cancel your subscription at any time.

YouTube API Services

Whimoway uses YouTube API Services. By using Whimoway, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

We access your YouTube data with your explicit consent. You can revoke this access at any time through your Google Account permissions. Revoking access will limit Whimoway's functionality but will not delete your account.

Our use of YouTube data is governed by our Privacy Policy and the Google API Services User Data Policy.

Intellectual property

Whimoway's brand, design, code, and editorial content are the property of Whimoway. You may not copy, modify, or distribute these without permission.

Video content displayed on Whimoway (thumbnails, titles, descriptions) is sourced from YouTube via their API and belongs to the respective creators. Whimoway does not host, store, or redistribute video content. All video links direct to YouTube.

Community guidelines

When participating in the Whimoway community (forums, stash comments, collaborative content), you agree to:

• Be respectful and constructive in discussions
• Provide honest and helpful feedback when reviewing others' work
• Not spam, self-promote excessively, or post off-topic content
• Not share content that is illegal, harmful, or violates others' rights
• Report content that violates these guidelines

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.

Limitation of liability

Whimoway is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that classification of your channels will be perfectly accurate.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Whimoway's liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months preceding any claim.

Account deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@whimoway.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

Upon deletion, all your personal data, YouTube-derived data, stashes, forum posts (disassociated from your identity), profile information, and activity history will be permanently removed.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the website. Your continued use of Whimoway after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
